“Who’s there!” Shan yelled into the darkness.

“Who the fuck you think” a voice called back. It was vaguely familiar - but why? Where has he heard that voice before? As Shan thought about this, he caught sight of a kunai flying towards him. The young ninja deftly spun and deflected the kunai by smacking the handle aside before it reached him.

Another kunai flew. Shan ducked underneath this kunai but was having difficulty keeping track of where they were coming from. Even his eyes struggled in this darkness.

Besides that, he had a time limit and would need to figure out who they were...wait.

“You’re the crew that robbed the bank with scarlett and I!” Shan yelled out triumphantly.

“Well, of course. What took you so long to figure it out.” The voice rang out. The footsteps ruling around Shan began to grow in speed and number. Were more of then joining the circle. Two kunai flew forward this time. Shan tried to dodge them both but one caught him on the thigh.

“Grr” he growled as a laser beam shot from his eyes into the distance. He heard rock crumbling but that was it. “ what do you want? Is this another training of Scarlett’s?”

It had to be, right? She wouldn’t set him up. She had no reason to.

“What do we want?” The voice rang out again. The voice was steadily growing closer. They were tightening their circle as they threw kunai to keep him busy. Were they afraid of closing the gap too quickly due to his eye. “I would’ve thought you’d have figure it out by now. We want your eyes, man. Did you think scarlett was hanging out because she liked you?”

“Ha! She was with you because she was promised that she’d get one of the two eyes if the replacement stuck around and got you on your own. She used you, man. It’s about time you accept that and lean against the wall.

Life is about more than fighting.”

“Leah against the wall? What you expect me to just lay down while you take my eyes, okay that sounds completely reasonable - not!” Shan yelled as he dashed into the darkness.

A boot caught him in the stomach - sending him flying back to where he had been. Why hadn’t he seen that coming? Shan looked around and everything appeared...normal. He wasn’t using his raidengan anymore. He was out of chakra.

“Shit!” Shan yelled out as he actually did back against the wall - though for protection and not to give up.

How the hell was he going to make his way out of this one?

Shan yelled out at the enemy as four of them charged forward. The leader of the group wasn’t among the four charging - so he may have been able to survive them if it wasn’t for one of them.

Scarlett was among the four. The smarter,stronger, tougher academy student led the other three. Her face showed no hint of the kindness she had showed before.

She swung her fist, but Shan was somehow able to dodge it without the use of his Raidengan. He began to follow up with an uppercut. Then his eyes locked onto Scarlett’s. The red haired woman’s beautiful golden eyes stared back at Shan.

The young man dodged around her instead and found himself with three ninja in front of him and one behind.

“Stop struggling” the feminine voice said from behind Shan. He turned around to look st his friend. Tears glistened in her eyes. “We need your eyes, Shan. The boss always gets what he wants.”

“Not today” Shan murmured as one of the ninja began to approach Shan from behind. The lightning god closed his eyes. He listened.

Thump. Thump. Whoosh. Shan sucked and slid his leg around in a sweep, knocking the man off his feet. He quickly tried to get up but it was too late. The opening was made and Shan dashed through it -opening his eyes as he did so. He could finally hear them calling after him but Shan ran further into the cave. Further into the darkness. He could hear their footsteps as he ran.

They were close behind him. Of that much, Shan was sure. For a moment, his mind flashed to a few days ago when he trained on his dummy at home. He was practicing controlling his chakra - a key component of the strength of a ninja - when he essentially slammed his chakra covered fist into the dummy. The blow hadn’t felt like anything to shan but the dummy had suffered considerable damage.

Could he replicate it? Shan focused hard on his hands as he ran. Come on. Come on. The chakra developed on them and Shan turned rapidly to throw a punch - except his hand caught onto the wall as he turned. It...was stuck. Was this how the higher level ninjas always walked on walls and the like?

Shan focused on his feet - adding chakra to them as well. Then, he walked up the wall.

He caught sight of one of his enemies below him. Her red hair showed her silhouette magnificently. Lacking a real shuriken, Shan threw a wooden one at her eyes.
