The Monkey & The Slug

“Mei-Lee,” Yukimura said as he stood at the entrance of the cave, “Give, Give me back my Girlfriend!” Yukimura yelled rushing recklessly into an onslaught of enemies.

Back at the Dojo where the Yuki brothers resided, there was small feast and celebration. They had all finished learning a variety of new jutsu and Mei-Lee felt obligated to cook for them. Sensei Minoru, their temporary jounin until their actual genin exam, had decided he would opt out of dinner tonight.
You legacy children are extremely exhausting. 8 hours of straight training, I want some sleep He said to them. Mei-Lee had managed to grab groceries to make a giant ramen bowl for the boys. She had just finished cutting up the last of the greens when Yukimura came down stairs.

“You actually know how to cook” Yukimura said as he walked over and wafted the pot. A quick slug to the back of the head caused him to retreat of the kitchen.
“Go wash your hands, Idiot!” She yelled. Although a bit of her did love the fact that he was finally beginning to take notice of her. Noboyuki noticed the interaction and learned from his brother’s mistakes.
“What are we having?” He said politely. What appeared to be a safe and harmless question was followed by the response of being hit in the forehead with a spoon.
“Why don’t you use your eyes.” She said as she continued stirring the pot with her remaining kitchenware.
“Dude why is your girlfriend so aggressive?” Noboyuki asked as they sat in the dining room. Yukimura shrugged and laughed although… he suddenly began to think.

While the feeling of attraction towards each other had been a constant thing, Yukimura and Mei-Lee had never once kissed or established their relationship. Yukimura wondered if she noticed the same thing between them. What if they really were just good friends? What if…
“Dinner is served!” Mei-Lee said placing the steaming hot bowl of Ramen in between them. As the trio started to dig in there was a loud explosion outside of the house.
“I feel like, we shouldn’t be the group that runs toward the explosion” Noboyuki said continuing to eat his food. But of course Mei-Lee stood up first and left to go see. Yukimura, being himself, went to go follow.
“Dear God of ninjas. Tell me, why did you place me on the team full of mishcamoons?” He said. He slurped down the rest of his ramen and chased after his brother and friend.

“Look who caught up” Yukimura said as he noticed Noboyuki behind them.
“Someone’s gotta protect your ass.” He said. Mei-Lee the forerunner of the group stayed quiet as she leaped from tree to tree. The trio arrived at a river where they noticed a group of bandits surrounding a small family.
“They’re not ninja.” Yukimura said noticing their attire. Noboyuki turned his head to a burning bridge.
“The bandits must have destroyed the bridge to prevent people from crossing.” He said showing his group. Mei-Lee took all the information in and leaped down to the basin where she stood in front of the bandits. Yukimura dropped down as well followed by his older brother.

The bandits weren’t much talkers themselves. They’d presumably already shaken down the family for whatever they owned and now had their sites set on the legacy children.
“Those white eyes, you’re not by chance a Hyuuga are you?” The smaller one in front said. Yukimura turned his head over to his brother.
“Get them back to the village, She’s safe with me.” Yukimura said confident at his own strength. Noboyuki nodded and immediately grabbed the caravan and began escorting them back home. Now all that remained were the three bandits, Yukimura & Mei-Lee.
“Grave mistake…” The middle one said. He disappeared and appeared behind Yukimura and with a swift strike to the neck knocked him unconscious. The bigger brute swiftly appeared at the caught off guard Mei-Lee and strangled her to sleep.
“Take the girl, throw the boy in the river.” The middle one said.
