The Forming of Team 3 (Solo +Training) (Squad formation)

Shao heard the scream from Mari, his own senses going on high alert. "He got Mari too? No..." he groaned in his head. He was in one of the fields, having covered his tracks, but now he heard Mari was in trouble. His instincts told him to go to her aid. He began to ran towards her voice, but soon stopped. "Wait a minute... to run right to her is running right into Yasha Sensei... He could use her ambush as bait to lure us out."

Cautiously, Shao moved forward to the source of the scream, and soon saw Mari on the ground. She was unconscious on the ground as Shao landed. "Mari!" Shao shouted and ran towards her.  She was lying flat on her back as Shao got to her. "Mari, talk to me!" Shao said and tried to rouse her.

Slowly, she opened her eyes and looked to him. "Oh... Shao...?" she groaned.

"Take it easy," Shao warned and reached a hand to help her up. She took it and sat up. However, she reached forward and gave him a hug-- causing Shao to blush a bit at her embrace.

"Shao thank you..." she said as she hugged him...

... but then a devious grin appeared on her face.

ZAP!!

A course of electricity appeared from her hand and zapped Shao right into his back-- similar to Kyle. Kyle gave a shout and fell to the ground.

Mari soon stood up, a defiant expression on her face then--- Poof! Smoke erupted from her form to reveal it was Yasha. He stood over Shao, his expression emotionless. "A ninja must see through deception, young Hyuga. You never considered that one of your allies was a fake--"

POOF!!

Suddenly, SHao's body vanished in a puff of smoke, to reveal it was only a log that clattered on the ground.

If anyone could of seen Yasha's eyes, he would of been wide-eyed with surprise. "A substitution jutsu--" he said.

WHOOSH!!-- Shao moved in at that moment. Using all his energy and speed he could muster, he moved in right behind Yasha, poised to grab the bells as fast as he could. However-- Yasha caught wift of SHao's movement and jumped out of the way just in time. His flip caused him to look right at Shao-- seeing his Byakkugan now active as he moved.

Yasha landed with a skid away from Shao. "Clever..." he said and slowly rose up, facing Shao. "So you knew it was a trap after all."

Shao glared at Yasha with his empowered eyes. "I memorized Mari's chakra flow and properties. Your's is different. Besides that, the trap was too obvious to risk going in unprepared." he said.

The two stared each other down, neither one moving just yet. Shao took a deep breath and thought what to do. Now that he was exposed, he couldn't hide and strike-- but now he had to face him head on. If he was lucky, one of his friends might come and distract him. However... he couldn't depend on that. So he did only what he could do... fight.

Slowly, he let out a deep breath and entered a fighting stance. Yasha's gaze drifted up as he soon saw Shao assume a wide stance, his hands extended out , not in fists but open palmed style.

The gentle fist style.

"I see. The gentle fist..." Yasha said, observing Shao's style. "A formidable weapon, but there is a flaw to your logic. I know from your file your weakest subject is Taijutsu. The gentle fist is not so effective if you lack the power to deliver effective strikes. "

"Then you don't know the gentle fist that well," SHao corrected.

Yasha smirked from behind his mask, his smirk visible to Shao. "We shall see..."

Shao moved in to strike! With his palms, he focused his chakra to reach his target, aiming for the main body, but still, Yasha was faster. He knew that a single strike would cause trouble.

Yasha dodged every strike Shao threw, able to keep a good few inches away from Shao.

SHao jumped into the air, attempting to deliver a kick, but was stopped by Yasha's hand on his shoe. "You will have to do better than that, little man."

It was then that suddenly, Shao vanished in a blur of speed-- he vanished even from Yasha's eyes. "He's fast. No-- its the Body Flicker jutsu--"

Shao reappeared directly behind Yasha, poised again right in range. He reached forward with his palm-- but what happened next really surprised Yasha.

The spark of electricity that seemed to come from his palm to strike.

ZAP!! The electric current was almost the same as when Yasha did it to Kyle. Raiton-- Wave of Inspiration-- a smaller version from the Shock Palm he used. The blast would not only hurt but paralyze the victim.

Shao was about to reach for the bells when---

Poof.

Yasha was gone, and all that was left was a log, similar to what SHao used to escape. "No..." shao groaned as he looked around with his Byakkugan, "A substitution jutsu. "

HOwever, as he looked-- Yasha was gone, taken off to get out of range of Shao's vision. With a sigh, Shao calmed down and retracted his Byakkugan. To use both that and ninjutsu was beginning to strain his chakra, and he had to conserve it.

From afar, Yasha felt safe enough to examine what he knew-- even saw Shao from his distance, perched upon one of the high reaching peaks of the forest's trees. "Lightning style at his age... normally that isn't something a genin can usually do. It is true, out of all three of these kids, this one is the most adept and intelligent. " he said to himself and observed at this point.

(Training: 1st roll: Raiton mastery, 2nd : Chakra Control, 3 and 4: Int)

Shao recollected himself and gathered his thoughts. He had a break from Yasha, but time was still ticking down. He looked up at the sky and noticed the sun was beginning to set lower in the sky. "We don't have much time left," Shao thought as he reactivated his Byakkugan briefly-- searching for something. He began to work to detect chakra-- and soon found what he was looking for.

Mari. She was nearby and seeming unconscious due the attack by Yasha. He didn't know that was the case from his distance, so he quickly went off in that direction to find her.

He soon reached the spot, hidden under a grove of trees, and found laying on her back, seeming asleep. She was not wounded, as SHao looked her over, but her chakra was disturbed, seen via his doujutsu. "A genjutsu, huh?" Shao realized and quickly wove hand signs. "Release." He then tapped her on the shoulder, applying his chakra to stimulate her own.

Slowly, she opened her eyes and rose up from the ground, rubbing her eyes. "S.. Shao?" She groaned and sat up, "What happened... Wait, i remember the test and Yasha sensei..."

"You were under a genjutsu," he said, rubbing her shoulder. "You feel okay to continue?" he asked.

Mari blinked and cast her eyes away. "Shao... but how?" She asked, a disheartened look on her face. "He is much stronger than us, and the fact that one of us will be sent back to the academy...."

Shao shook his head. "We can't think about that right now," Shao said, causing her to turn her head back in surprise. "Our goal is clear. We gotta get those bells, no matter what. And there is only one way we can really get them. Together. If we do it alone, we will never catch him."

"But what about the bells?" Mari asked.

"That doesn't matter. Right now, we should just worry about getting them first, then we worry about who gets which one. " Shao said. "We need to work together as a team if we want to even come close to succeed. Its better that only one of us pass, than just all of us fail."

Mari listened carefully and then slowly nodded. "You're right. We can't think about that. We need to keep our minds on the goal. We all need to work together, Kyle Included." she said.

"Exactly," Shao said and stood back up. Activating his Byakkugan again, he looked around-- and found Kyle back in the original clearing of the forest. "I found Kyle. "

"What is he doing?" Mari asked as she got back up.

Shao however, despite his Byakkugan, closed his eyes and rubbed his temples. "Take a guess..." he said simply.

Kyle was upside down with a rope tied around his ankle. He looked miserable and embarassed as Yasha was below him, looking up at him in the tree. One of the bells had been below Kyle and he had moved to try and grab it-- only to end up caught in a trap Yasha prepared.

"You should know better, Kyle. if the bait is obvious, don't take it," Yasha said calmly.

Kyle however growled and thrashed his arms about. "GRRR!! Just you wait, when I get out of this I am gonna wack you with your own mask, you jerk!"

Yasha wasn't fazed by Kyle's outburst and just sighed. "Well hopefully you will cooldown, hot head, before the blood rushes to your head. " And with that, the ninja vanished in a blur of speed.

(Training roll= 4 to Dex, 1 to Chakra Control Training)

Kyle still hung by the rope and tree, really looking like a monkey as he was stuck there. He grumbled to himself as he saw the world from an upside down view. "THIS SUCKS!!" he shouted out, trying to get free but couldn't reach up to cut the rope with a kunai.

However, luck came his way as a sudden shuriken came flying out from the forest. It flew right across the tree-- and sliced through the rope that held Kyle's leg. Kyle suddenly fell out with a shout and landed on his back.

Surprised, Kyle looked around, unsure how he got free. "Huh? What the heck happened?" he asked, his head turning left and right, confused.

The sound of a sharp whistle caught his attention as he turned to the sound. In the shade of the grove of trees to his left, he soon saw someone. In there was Shao, waving at him to come this way. He had been the one to throw the shuriken that freed Kyle. "Kyle... Kyle.. get over here!" Shao called out, as low as he could to sound like a whisper but to reach Kyle.

Seeing Shao, Kyle glanced around to make sure Yasha wasn't around-- then quickly ran over to where he was.

Shao watched as Kyle reached the grove of trees and pushed past the brush. As Kyle emerged and knelt down, he found Mari with SHao as well. "You guys... WHat are you doing? Shouldn't you be trying to catch Yasha for the bells!" Kyle asked.

"That's why we are here," Mari said to Kyle, her tone a whisper. "We all need to work together if we want a chance to succeed."

"Huh?" Kyle said, looking between them. "But there aren't enough bells to go around if we do it together-- unless..." he gave a cunning look at them. "You two aren't trying to trick me so you two can get the bells yourself. If so I won't go down easily!"

His raised voice cause Shao to quickly lean forward and shut Kyle's mouth so he wouldn't stop yelling. "Will you keep it down! We lose if Yasha catches on," SHao said in a hushed tone. "I don't care about who gets the bells, but we can only do this if we all work together. So stop acting like a loose cannon for a few minutes and hear us out."

Shao removed his hand, and Kyle frowned-- but kept quiet. "Okay... so you really okay with one of us failing?"

"No," Mari said, but repeated Shao, "But better than all of us failing. First should be our priority of us actually catching him. We can only do that together. Besides, we are friends. We can't let something as stupid as bells come between us."

Kyle blinked at Mari's words, and turned to Shao, who also nodded. The spiky haired boy let out a deep breath and calmed himself. "Okay... so what is the plan? We can't just attack him. He is too fast. Even for me." he explained.

"Yeah, I noticed that too," Shao said, his expression calm and thoughtful. "But I think we can work together to corner him-- then we have him."

"But how?" Mari asked,

"Listen, this is what we should do," Shao said, urging them all closer and whispered.

From afar, Yasha observed them. Though he couldn't hear or clearly see then, he could sense their chakra and saw as they all gathered together. He could only imagine what they where talking about, but he smiled. "Good, they are finally getting the point..." he said, and waited.

"That's it?" Kyle asked, his expression wide-eyed. "That's all we have to do? It sounds too easy."

Shao frowned at him. "Only if you keep to the plan. " He then turned to Mari. "Mari, can you handle your part? Do you need any help setting it up?"

"Oh, no I can handle it. It shouldn't take me too long," Mari said.

"OKay, so we will set it up in the spot we discussed," Shao said and stood up. "Now, we gotta find out where Yasha sensei is hiding." He closed his eyes and focused his chakra once more to his eyes. "Byakkugan!"

His sense of vision exploded once more as he felt the line of sight expand all around him-- but he aimed it forward, allowing him to see a farther distance. It was then he saw him-- both him and his chakra. The ninja stood in the trees overlooking a nearby clearing.

"I found him. He is roughly 1/4th of a mile away, hiding in the trees east of a clearing. He is probably waiting for us to make a move there," Shao said.

It was then that Kyle smirked . "Then lets not disappoint him." he replied with confidence.
