Inshitsu looked back at the sun to judge the time of the day. He had been waiting for Kin to meet him here, but it seemed that she found something more important. Inshitsu pushed down the feeling of disappointment that had come from being tossed aside. Inshitsu got off the wall of the general store that he was leaning on. Inshitsu merged into the crowded street as he went to which ever direction the crowd was flowing. Inshitsu heard birds calling above him and listened as the sound faded in the distance. The crowd took him to several locations within the city, but eventually he managed to travel back to his house. He simply walked back inside of his house, ignoring the surrounding noise coming from the crowd. Inshitsu walked through his house until he found himself in front of his door. Inshitsu took in a breath of relief at the thought of taking a nap in his bed; he placed his hand on the door knob and twisted it. Pushing against the wooden surface, Inshitsu stepped into his room, closing the door behind him. Inshitsu started to walk towards his bed, but felt something wrong within his room. Inshitsu examined the room he was standing. His eyes locked on to a bird that was perched outside his window that was staring directly at him. Upon the bird locking eye contact with Inshitsu, it flew off. Inshitsu ran over to the window, opened it, and looked after the bird. Inshitsu stared after the bird as it flew into the distance. Inshitsu muttered a curse under his bird, and started to climb onto his roof. As he got on to the top of his house, he scanned the sky for the bird that had been spying on him. He caught the familiar blur within the sky, flying away at high speeds. “You little rat…” Inshitsu’s eyes locked on to the bird as he performed his Wave of Inspiration. Inshitsu watched as the lightning formed around his hands, and shot towards the bird that was still traveling away from him. The bird hovered as the lightning connected with the bird, stunning it, causing it to spiral towards the ground. Inshitsu watched as it vanished behind the horizon. While he should have felt satisfied that he had detected the bird, he couldn’t help but shake the feeling that the bird was meant to be taken down. Inshitsu hopped across rooftops in order to approach the spot where the bird had landed. Inshitsu ignored the ogling eyes beneath himself as he rushed to get to the bird. Inshitsu came within a block of where he assumed the bird dropped. He dropped back down to street level, rolling to get rid of the momentum, and walked behind the building that he saw the bird disappear. Behind the building, Inshitsu saw nothing but the trash that cluttered the alleyway. Inshitsu looked behind a large pile of trash that seemed to have something left in the middle of it. Inshitsu reached his hand between the clutters of trash, resisting the urge to cringe at what he was doing. Inshitsu’s hand stopped after it grazed over something firm. Inshitsu quickly pulled out whatever it was that he had grabbed underneath the garbage. He had not discovered the bird, but rather, a rodent. Inshitsu quickly dropped the rodent and, out of shock, performed another Wave of Inspiration on the rat. The lightning shocked the rat, causing it to spasm before its body relaxed. Inshitsu stared for a second at the corpse of the rat that he had just killed. Inshitsu regained his composure and walked out of the alleyway back into normal society, ignoring the question of who had obtained the bird’s corpse.
